Assault on Mt. Mitchell

Regional Ride Calendar

Local rides are awesome, but occasionally it is great to travel around the region to see some new sights and meet new cyclists.  This page will help you find rides in the South-East to accomplish this goal.

Have we missed your favorite ride?  Contact us and we'll be glad to post it!

The 50 and 75 mile routes available on Saturday will basically take the same course for the first 35 miles. At that point the 75 mile route will take an additional 25 mile loop around Roan Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge. Both routes come back together with a very fast 3 mile downhill finish to the hotel. On Sunday we will drop down to Valle Crucis on one of the most exciting downhills one will ever ride. The route will finish by crossing over Hickory Nut Gap back to Banner Elk. At this point you can take the challenge up Beech Mountain for the ultimate finish of a HC climb or 3.5 miles with 1800 feet of climbing.
The 2 day loop event will challenge the mind and strength of even the experienced cyclists as you discover what you are made of, what you are meant to become and who you knew you could be.
